Agrinos Recognized as “World Changing Entrepreneur,” Participates in Inaugural Unreasonable Goals Program for Sustainability
In partnership with the U.S. State Department, Unreasonable Group launches program to accelerate efforts of select entrepreneurs best positioned to help achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
DAVIS, Calif. (August 29, 2017)—Agrinos is one of only 16 global entrepreneurial companies chosen to take part in a newly launched Unreasonable Goals program that will leverage market forces for the purpose of solving some of the world’s toughest challenges.
Program organizers believe that problem solvers like Agrinos—entrepreneurial organizations with cutting-edge technologies and the ability to scale up quickly—are best positioned to deliver solutions that can measurably impact the Sustainable Development Goals.
The program is a partnership between governments, multinationals and the Unreasonable Group. It is dedicated to addressing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals identified in 2015 by world leaders at the United Nations, and aims to end poverty, ensure food security and tackle climate change by 2030.
Agrinos was selected to participate as the entrepreneurial company to help achieve the second sustainable development goal: End hunger – achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Ry Wagner, Agrinos’ CEO, participated in the inaugural program that spanned nearly two weeks in July and was held in Washington, D.C. The annual program is scheduled to run through 2030. It is designed to accelerate efforts of selected companies with an established track record of achievement in sustainability to help them scale quickly and tackle the Sustainable Development Goals.
“We’re honored to have been selected for this program,” said Wagner. “The agricultural solutions and technologies developed by Agrinos can help deliver soil health benefits, higher yields and improved nutritional content across a wide range of crops around the world. These are critical elements of sustainable agriculture and can help serve to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.”
“After almost a year-long selection process, our team chose Agrinos as the most effective enterprise solution in the world oriented around achieving the second Sustainable Development Goal of ending hunger globally,” said Unreasonable Goals founder and CEO Daniel Epstein. “The team at Agrinos is combining advanced science with a market-driven solution that is already amplifying the yield, crop nutrition and soil health for nearly a million farmers worldwide. By supporting so many farmers across diverse geographies, we believe Agrinos will ultimately impact billions of lives.”
At the Unreasonable Goals Global Summit, Wagner explained how ground-breaking innovation that enriches the soil microbiome is helping to shape the future of agriculture. He also discussed the ways microbials and biostimulants containing naturally derived bio-compounds and microorganisms can deliver benefits to the soil, the crop and growers.
